Job Title: Native American Youth Advocate

Native American Youth And Family Center seeks a dedicated and compassionate advocate to join our team. The successful candidate will provide a wide range of social services to youth aged 12 to 25 who are at risk of or currently being sexually exploited or trafficked.

The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in a youth-facing social services role, with a focus on working with Native youth. They will also have knowledge of the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) and the history of the Native American community's relationship with the child welfare system.

The advocate will provide case management services through the lens of harm reduction, trauma-informed care, and strengths-based advocacy. They will also maintain confidentiality at all times and complete Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) releases of information when needed.

The successful candidate will be self-aware, able to listen well, and center others. They will also be able to work effectively in a team environment and have an OR or WA driver's license and a vehicle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of approximately twelve youth aged 12 to 25 who are at risk of or currently being sexually exploited or trafficked.
  • Provide case management services through the lens of harm reduction, trauma-informed care, and strengths-based advocacy.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times and complete Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) releases of information when needed.
  • Complete intakes, assessments, goal plans, and exit interviews with all clients.
  • Weave culturally specific references and themes into every aspect of your program.
  • Provide outreach and training to community partners on culturally specific sex trafficking prevention.

Requirements:

  • At least two years of experience in a youth-facing social services role.
  • Knowledge of the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) and the history of the Native American community's relationship with the child welfare system.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
