About the Role

Canon Virginia is seeking intern students with Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology majors who have taken courses such as heat transfer, fluid flow, HVAC, and energy conversion. We are looking for individuals who want to gain hands-on experience in a real-world setting and make a meaningful contribution to our Facilities Department.

Your Responsibilities
  • You will gain industry and organizational knowledge through daily business interactions and job assignments.
  • You will perform diverse and challenging tasks to gain valuable hands-on experience.
  • You will assist CVI staff on various projects, tasks, and activities relating to your area of study or coursework.
  • You will utilize good time management skills to effectively and accurately complete work assignments.
  • You will exercise good judgment and apply knowledge from the classroom setting to a professional work environment.
  • You will participate in activities designed for development during your assignment, such as Lunch and Learns, Roundtable Discussions, etc.
  • You will prepare a presentation summarizing your experiences gained through the internship and present to peers and management.


About You: The Skills & Expertise You Bring

  • You must be working towards an undergraduate degree with the minimum credit hours to be classified as a junior or senior in your studies and have taken several related courses to the field in which you will be assigned.
  • You must be at least 18 years of age.
  • You must be eligible to work in the U.S.
  • You should have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • You should be proficient in Microsoft Office.
