Job Summary

The Federal Reserve Bank is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented System Engineer Intern to join our Enterprise Infrastructure team. As a System Engineer Intern, you will work closely with our team to provide network engineering services, including design, installation, and enhancement of local and wide area network infrastructures and enterprise server, application and system management services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot issues related to network appliances, infrastructure hardware and software, web services and enterprise applications
  • Monitor web services, network and server performance
  • Support backend systems such as database, e-mail and server operating environments
  • Upgrade servers, routers and switches
  • Develop scripts to support the above activities

What You'll Gain

As a System Engineer Intern, you will have the opportunity to contribute to projects related to Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning (AI/ML), utilizing Solarwinds, a network monitoring suite of tools, installing, configuring, and migrating systems to be monitored with Zabbix, contributing to the firewall revalidation process, and mapping of network equipment migration.

Requirements

The IT Internship requires a minimum of two years of college coursework in computer science, electrical engineering, information systems, or other related disciplines. This internship may be completed remotely, or in a hybrid capacity at the discretion of the selected candidate. US Citizenship is required for all Board internships and applicants must be current students, graduating from their program fall 2025 or later.
