POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Field Service Engineer at Nikon SLM Solutions plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional support to our external clients by leveraging their expertise and experience with Nikon SLM Solutions machinery. This role primarily emphasizes installation and maintenance, with the successful candidate tasked with the complete system installation at client sites. Responsibilities include mechanical assembly, electrical connections, precision calibration, and establishing customer network interfaces.

Additionally, the Field Service Engineer will:

  • Offer technical assistance for Nikon SLM Solutions machines, focusing on electrical, mechanical, cooling, and gas systems to ensure optimal operational efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaborate closely with client personnel to guarantee successful installation and commissioning.
  • Engage in training and educating client staff on basic system operations for Nikon SLM Solutions equipment and associated machines.
  • Participate in and coordinate meetings with clients to discuss installation or repair progress and timelines.
  • Maintain regular communication regarding installation or repair status with clients and the Service Manager.
  • Work in tandem with the Service Manager to ensure exemplary service delivery to clients.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic, Automation Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • Hands-on experience in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting of industrial machinery.
  • Experience in computer hardware/software setup.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics.
  • Preferred experience with 3D printing technology, specifically Metal Laser Powder Bed Fusion.
  • Practical experience with automation systems in manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with CAD software.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
  • Capability to work independently and thrive under pressure.
