Role Overview:
The primary responsibility of this position is to conduct initial visual quality inspections on metal stampings while efficiently packing these components into suitable containers to ensure a high-quality product for both internal and external customers. Additional quality checks may be performed as required, with relevant information recorded in the PLEX system (ERP - enterprise resource planning).
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute all tasks necessary to meet daily and weekly production targets.
- Reference production orders in PLEX to process products according to the Job Element Sheet (JES).
- Regularly lift, move, and position materials weighing up to 60 pounds, with assistance for heavier items, throughout the assigned work area. Press packing tasks involve frequent standing, walking, bending, twisting, and lifting.
- Select appropriate racks or bins for packing and storing parts for subsequent processes.
- Accurately pack components in designated containers following packaging instructions to meet customer specifications, ensuring compliance with labeling requirements.
- Complete online work center and operator inspection documentation to confirm process stability and adherence to visual inspection and gauge standards.
- Conduct visual inspections of parts from previous operations in accordance with Challenge Manufacturing quality standards to verify proper form, fit, and function.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by performing regular housekeeping duties.
- Cross-train on various work centers as needed.
- Complete necessary paperwork and documentation, including hourly count boards.
- Achieve daily production goals.
Shift Details:
This position operates on a C Shift: 5:00 AM - 5:00 PM Friday/Saturday and 5:00 PM - 5:00 AM Sunday/Monday.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Able to stand for 8-10 hours daily and physically capable of performing essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation.
