Position Overview:
We are in search of a committed and skilled educational professional to fill the role of Learning Support Specialist. This position is essential in providing tailored educational assistance to students with varying learning requirements across multiple educational institutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Student Assistance:
    Deliver personalized instruction and support to students with recognized needs, including those with learning disabilities and attention-related challenges. Develop and implement accommodation plans based on specialized documentation.
  2. Skill Development:
    Instruct students in executive functioning skills to enhance their organizational abilities, study techniques, and time management.
  3. Assessment Management:
    Administer and oversee testing accommodations for students within the program.
  4. Collaboration with Educators:
    Act as a liaison between classroom teachers and the learning support environment, providing guidance on inclusive education practices and differentiated instruction.
  5. Engagement with Families:
    Maintain regular communication with parents or guardians regarding student progress, challenges, and home support strategies.
  6. Program Development:
    Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of the learning support program.
  7. Evaluation and Monitoring:
    Conduct assessments to identify learning needs and track student progress, maintaining comprehensive records of outcomes and program effectiveness.

Qualifications:
  1. Education:
    Preferred master's degree in special education, educational psychology, or a related field. State certification in Special Education is mandatory.
  2. Experience:
    A minimum of three years working with students with diverse learning needs, ideally in a secondary education context. Familiarity with special education documentation is essential.
  3. Skills:
    In-depth knowledge of learning disabilities and effective instructional methodologies. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are crucial for collaboration with students, families, and staff.
  4. Personal Attributes:
    A genuine passion for supporting students with special needs and a dedication to their academic success. Creativity in designing instructional strategies tailored to individual student requirements, along with strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability to changing circumstances.
