About the Role

We are seeking a qualified Support Educator to join our team at Green Tree School & Services. As a Support Educator, you will play a vital role in assisting the teacher in implementing the Individualized Education Program (IEP) and providing support to students with emotional disturbances and autism.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Teacher: Work closely with the teacher to implement the IEP and provide support to students in the classroom.
  • Modify Student Programs: Collaborate with the teaching team to continually modify a student's program to meet their individual needs.
  • Support Student Learning: Work with individual students or groups of students under the supervision of the teacher to reinforce new and existing skills.
  • Maintain Records: Keep accurate and up-to-date records on student progress and behavior.
  • Prepare Classroom Materials: Assist in preparing classroom materials and resources to support student learning.
  • Plan and Confer with Teachers: Collaborate with teachers to plan and implement instructional strategies and activities.
  • Assist with Physical Care: Provide support with physical care needs of students, including toileting, feeding, and other self-help skills.
Requirements
  • Education: Must have completed at least 2 years of post-secondary study, possess an associate degree or higher, or met a rigorous standard of quality as demonstrated through a state or local assessment.
  • Clearances: Current Act 34, Act 114, and Act 151 clearances.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate in a verbal and/or written manner.
  • Priority Management: Ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks in a fast-paced environment.
