Electrical Equipment Specialist

This position performs routine skilled and technical support work in the inspection, repair and maintenance of transmission and distribution substation electrical equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical systems and be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and repair high voltage power transformers.
- Operate oil processing equipment for transformer vacuum filling and oil processing.
- Maintain oil processing equipment in mechanical working order.
- Transport oil processing equipment, generators, trailers to customer locations.
- Assist in coordinating substation services with technicians, electricians and project manager.
- Travel to different customer sites/locations.
- Oversee equipment performance and insure proper function.
- Provide reporting on equipment gauge monitoring and daily progress/activities.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED. Supplemental courses in electrical maintenance desired.
- Must possess a current and valid driver's license, and be able to maintain a good driving record.
- Must be able to crawl, climb, stand and lift up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Must be able to pass a fit for duty exam.
- Must be available for regular overnight domestic travel and occasional international travel.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours and overtime, and occasional weekends, holidays and nights.
- Able and willing to travel up to 75% as needed.
