Electrical and Instrumentation Systems Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Electrical and Instrumentation Systems Specialist to join our team at Sahale Snacks Seattle. As an Electrical and Instrumentation Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical and instrumentation systems in our facility. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and safety of our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain, repair, and install electrical equipment in a food manufacturing facility.
- Provide technical input during the project bidding phase, including specification reviews, drawing reviews, instrumentation selection, and procurement/pricing.
- Manage EC&I subcontractors and liaise between in-house technical managers and subcontractors.
- Witness electrical and instrument panel manufacturing, testing, commissioning work, and assist in start-up of systems, including instrumentation configuration and setup, troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, and software issues.
- Responsible for troubleshooting and servicing all production and support equipment within the facility in a safe and efficient manner while ensuring minimal downtime.
- Maintain consistent and document compliance with all relevant Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Data Integrity (DI), quality, and best practice requirements.
- Liaise between plant and corporate IT/third-party companies.
- Maintain maintenance records through CMMS.
- Respond in a timely fashion to breakdown conditions and work in such a way as to minimize downtime.
- Support the Technical Manager and maintenance teams as required, achieving high levels of availability and plant integrity.
- Provide E&I coverage throughout the working day and, at times, during out-of-hours working (extended days) if needed.
- Assist in the development of a maintenance strategy for the equipment operated by Sahale with reference to the appropriate programs.
- Ensure all relevant personnel are kept informed of progress or proposed changes on the equipment to minimize the impact on production.
- Assist in the design modification process and be proactive in the modification procedure.
- Be responsible for their own continuous professional development, gradually putting into practice skills and competencies learned both on and off the job, and sharing professional knowledge with colleagues.
- Contribute to the development of specific technical projects and have a working knowledge of project management procedures, including setup, planning, and execution.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous performance improvement within the technical environment in alignment with company strategy and project deliverables.
- Work in a safe and efficient manner with due regard to the HSE rules and policies on the Sahale site and be responsible for general housekeeping for the area they are working within.
Requirements:
- Educational background in Electrical and Instrumentation or Technical Trade equivalent.
- Hands-on experience with industrial electrical and automation.
- Ability to read electrical drawings.
- Minimum 3 years' experience with build/installation of projects.
- Proficient in the use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Proficiency in the use of electrical drawing packages an advantage.
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Passionate and self-confident but open and willing to learn.
- A team player.
- Ambitious, loyal, and driven to progress their long-term career.
- Experience in the food industry is a distinct advantage.
- IT literate.
- Willing to travel to customer sites.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk up and down stairs frequently and around semi-automated machinery.
- Wearing proper personal protective equipment (PPE) provided by the company.
- Ability to routinely lift up to 50 pounds.
- Work around food allergens such as tree nuts, dairy, and soy.
