Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Sales Tax Supervisor to oversee the sales & use tax compliance function, including property tax, unclaimed property, and licensing. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising the sales & use tax accounting staff and reporting to the Sales Tax Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and Analysis: Review monthly sales & use tax returns for states and cities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all filing obligations.
  • Research and Consultation: Conduct research and provide consultation on various sales tax matters, ensuring that the company remains compliant with all tax regulations.
  • Audit Management: Direct and manage sales & use tax audits across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring that all audits are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Tax Exemption Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance of tax exemptions, ensuring that all exemptions are up-to-date and compliant with all tax regulations.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Experience: Three or more years of experience in multi-state sales and use tax, including experience filing multistate sales & use tax returns and coordinating sales & use tax audits.
  • Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to deal effectively with staff, management, outside consultants, and taxing authorities. Ability to work well with cross-functional teams within the company, strong problem-solving skills, and ability to multi-task and meet government filing deadlines.
