Job Summary

As a Mine Safety and Health Inspector with the Mine Safety and Health Administration, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and health of miners across the United States. This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires a strong understanding of mine safety and health regulations, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular inspections of mines to identify and address potential safety and health hazards
  • Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions
  • Develop and implement training programs to educate mine operators and workers on safety and health best practices
  • Collaborate with mine operators, workers, and other stakeholders to promote a culture of safety and health
  • Stay up-to-date with changing regulations and industry developments to ensure compliance and best practices
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as mining engineering, safety engineering, or a related field
  • At least 2 years of experience in mine safety and health, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of mine safety and health regulations, including the Federal Mine Safety and Health Act of 1977
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
