About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Inspector I to join our team at the City of Mesa, AZ. As a Construction Inspector I, you will be responsible for ensuring that construction projects meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect construction projects to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and codes
  • Conduct quality assurance inspections to ensure that projects meet the required standards
  • Work with contractors and project managers to resolve issues and ensure project completion
  • Monitor and report on project progress, including identifying and addressing any potential problems
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget
Requirements
  • Graduation from high school or equivalent
  • Three years of experience in construction trades, construction management, construction inspections, civil engineering inspections, building inspections, materials testing, and/or paraprofessional engineering
  • Valid Class D Arizona Driver's License
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in contract administration and quality assurance
  • Knowledge of construction codes and regulations
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
