This exciting opportunity is based out of our Independence, OH Support Center.

Job Description
  • Litigation and Compliance

Support the handling of litigation and arbitration matters from start to finish, including overseeing outside counsel litigation efforts, interviewing witnesses, preparing for depositions, handling written discovery and motion practice, engaging in pre-trial dispute resolution, and participating in arbitration and/or trial.

Advice and Counseling

Provide advice and counseling on a broad spectrum of employment issues, including wage and hour, payroll, benefits, hiring, performance management, internal investigations, leaves of absence, discipline, terminations, employee classification, and employee privacy.

Agency Charges and Government Audits

Respond to agency charges, government audits, and demand letters.

Compliance Matters

Collaborate with Legal, HR, Payroll, Operations, Risk, and Training on employment-related compliance matters, including conducting wage and hour compliance audits, identifying additional areas of employment-related compliance opportunities, advising on preventative and corrective action plans, updating internal business clients on new laws and legal trends, and supporting training initiatives.

Requirements
  • 4-6 years of employment law experience, with California wage and hour litigation experience being a plus.
  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school; must have state bar admission in good standing.
  • Experience in various stages of employment litigation, as well as knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations (e.g., Title VII, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, FEHA, PAGA) and federal and state agencies (e.g., DOL, EEOC, DLSE, DFEH). Privacy counseling and advice experience is also desirable.
  • Experience with single plaintiff litigation matters, with experience with class/representative/collective actions being a plus.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset that enables you to work independently while using good judgment to escalate issues when needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to guide multiple objectives and initiatives simultaneously.
  • Dedication to exceptional client service.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • A sense of humor and an upbeat, can-do attitude, in keeping with the company's Own It philosophy.
  • And, of course, a passion for practicing law.
Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $120,000 to $180,000 per year, depending on experience.
