Job Summary

Bay Area Community Resources is seeking a skilled Restorative Justice Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in promoting a positive school culture and climate by integrating restorative practices into the daily life of our school.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate Restorative Circles: Lead restorative circles between teachers, students, and staff in the Wellness Center to foster a sense of community and promote positive relationships.
  • Implement Restorative Practices: Facilitate restorative practices during lunch and recess to promote social-emotional learning and conflict resolution skills.
  • Conduct Check-Ins: Conduct one-on-one check-ins with students in need to provide support and guidance.
  • Collaborate with Staff: Attend SSTs and parent meetings to provide support and strategize interventions as needed.
  • Collect and Analyze Data: Help collect, synthesize, and analyze office disciplinary referrals (ODRs) and suspension data to inform restorative justice programs.
  • Advocate for Restorative Justice: Advocate for restorative justice within the community and work to raise awareness of its benefits.
Requirements
  • Conflict Resolution Skills: Possess experience in conflict resolution, mediation, or counseling.
  • Communication Skills: Demonstrate strong oral communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with parents, students, teachers, and staff.
  • Emotional Intelligence: Possess the ability to handle emotionally charged situations with empathy and professionalism.
