Business Development Strategist

We're headquartered in Alexandria, VA, and we're actively seeking a Business Development Strategist to join our team. This role is responsible for driving growth in our EGS market share in the EGS medical facility, GSA, and BOS Lines of Business. You'll work closely with our team to develop intelligence community opportunities and ensure integrated, competitive solutions. This role reports directly to the President of EMCOR Government Services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop a Winning Culture: Foster a culture of excellence in EGS Business Development that integrates the company's efforts to support proposal success.
- Full Business Development Life Cycle: Lead the full life cycle of Business Development, from market segmentation and long-term positioning to assessing opportunities and integrating capture efforts into winning proposals.
- Supervise Proposal Management: Oversee the Director of Proposal Management and the proposal management team.
- Collaborate with Pricing Team: Work with the VP of Pricing, EBS to integrate pricing solutions into a holistic effort that supports winning proposals.
- Best Practices and Compliance: Focus on industry best practices, training, and disciplines required to ensure fully compliant government contracting solutions.
- Client Solutions: Collaborate with subject matter experts, operations directors, and program/project managers to generate solutions that address client needs and expectations.
- Gate Reviews and Proposal Readiness: Lead gate reviews, participate in technical, management, and pricing strategy development and reviews, and evaluate proposal readiness activities to ensure a seamless transition to proposal management operations.
- Proposal Strategies and Win Themes: Work with Proposal Managers and Pricing Team members to translate voice-of-customer requirements into proposal strategies and win themes. Assist program management and other staff with the development of solicited and unsolicited solutions and generation of proposals.
- Resource Requirements and Skillsets: Work collaboratively with business management and operations staff to define the resource requirements and skillsets needed for successful program execution upon program award.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree: A bachelor's degree in project management, engineering, or business with seven years' work experience in leadership roles in Business Development and Operations and Maintenance program management.
- Proven Track Record: A proven track record of successful capture management across multiple government agencies at a variety of acquisition sizes.
- Briefing and Writing Skills: Strong briefing and writing skills with the ability to deliver finished work to wide audiences, including high-ranking customers and senior leadership.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with a desire to develop customer and external contractor relationships necessary to position key customer accounts for success.
- Collaborative Team Environment: Proven experience of working collaboratively and effectively in a highly dynamic team environment.
- Complex Opportunity Winning: Proven experience of winning complex, full and open, Prime opportunities in the Federal environment with emphasis on BOS, Healthcare, and GSA opportunities.
- Proposal Development Best Practices: Familiarity with proposal development best practices, such as Shipley or APMP.
- Travel Requirements: Ability to travel as needed for business purposes.
