Fisheries Conservation Specialist

Salary: $105,000 per annum
The Ocean Foundation is a leading organization in marine conservation. As an International Fisheries Conservation Officer, you will contribute to the sustainable management of global fisheries.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement strategies for regional fisheries management organizations (RFMO) in the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian oceans.
- Lead modeling efforts, propose harvest strategies, and interpret results.
- Stay up-to-date on relevant issues at each RFMO and maintain knowledge of related science, technology, and policy.
- Draft policy briefs and scientific papers to advance program objectives.
- Support communications efforts by drafting web content and developing relationships with stakeholders.
- Represent the program at meetings and report back on proceedings.
- Masters degree required, doctoral degree preferred.
- At least four years of experience in model-based analysis and/or population modeling, proficient in R or similar programming language.
- Strong interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, and computational abilities.
