Job Overview

The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) is seeking an experienced Environmental Law Attorney to join our team. As an Environmental Law Attorney, you will work on unique and challenging issues related to environmental compliance and interact with a wide variety of US Government and state agencies and federal and state regulators.

Salary

$147,000 - $200,000 per year, depending on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice and policy counsel to CIA leadership on complex areas of law affecting the CIA's duties and responsibilities under authorities including the National Security Act, the CIA Act, and Executive Orders.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on sensitive matters.
  • Provide training on a variety of laws and policies affecting CIA personnel.
  • Maintain productive working relationships with other Intelligence Community elements, federal agencies, congressional committees, and using these relationships to further the mission of the CIA.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A minimum of three (3) years of environmental law practice experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with major environmental law statutes, including the National Environmental Policy Act, the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, the Endangered Species Act, the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (Superfund), and the National Historic Preservation Act.
  • Familiarity with the Occupational Safety and Health Act and standards implemented thereunder is preferred but not required.
