Job Title: Paralegal Estates and Trusts

Shriners Children's is a leading pediatric medical center seeking a highly skilled Paralegal Estates and Trusts to join our team. As a Paralegal Estates and Trusts, you will provide critical support to our attorneys in the Estate and Trust practice group, ensuring the smooth administration of estates and trusts.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide substantive legal support to attorneys, including drafting and preparing documents, managing department files, and entering financial data into Practice Manager.
  • Audit estate/trust accountings for accuracy, prepare Excel spreadsheets, and investigate and report inaccuracies to attorneys.
  • Provide additional support to attorneys as requested, including reviewing wire transfer and setup confirmations, and summarizing issues and status of files for attorney review.
  • Oversee proper entry and recordation of various types of information in department's electronic file system and paper files.
  • Initiate calls to Courts, Attorneys, Financial Institutions, etc. as necessary to obtain estate and trust administration information.
Qualifications:
  • 4 or more years of legal experience in estate planning, trusts, and estates preferred.
  • Experience with trust and estate accounting preferred.
  • Proficiency in PGCalc, or similar Planned Giving software program, preferred.
  • Experience transcribing dictation preferred.
  • Legal research experience preferred.
Education:
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Associates Degree in Paralegal Studies preferred.
  • Florida Registered Paralegal preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of probate and estate administration, real estate transactions, estate planning, and charitable trusts.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including MS Word.
  • Works well in a team environment.
