Job Title: Chemical Dependency Counselor

The Southcentral Foundation (SCF) is seeking a skilled Chemical Dependency Counselor to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing assessment and treatment services for individuals struggling with substance use disorders.

Job Summary:

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong understanding of substance use disorders and a commitment to providing high-quality care. As a Chemical Dependency Counselor, you will work closely with our team to develop and implement treatment plans that address the unique needs of each individual.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of individuals with substance use disorders
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Provide counseling and therapy services to individuals and groups
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
  • Document all interactions and treatment plans in accordance with SCF policies
Requirements:
  • Certification as a Chemical Dependency Counselor I (CDC-I) or equivalent
  • Two years of experience working in the behavioral health field
  • Ability to obtain Alaska certification as a CDC-I within 12 months of hire
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification as a Chemical Dependency Counselor II (CDC-II) or equivalent
  • Two years of direct service delivery of chemical dependency experience at Level I
