Job Summary

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is seeking a highly skilled Aviation Safety Inspector to join our team. As an Aviation Safety Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of the national airspace system by conducting inspections, investigations, and surveillance of aviation operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct inspections and investigations of aviation operations to ensure compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs)
  • Review and analyze data to identify trends and patterns related to aviation safety
  • Develop and implement corrective actions to address safety concerns
  • Collaborate with other FAA employees and stakeholders to share best practices and improve safety
  • Provide technical guidance and support to aviation industry stakeholders
Requirements
  • Valid State driver's license
  • Fluency in the English language
  • No chemical dependencies or drug abuse that could interfere with job performance
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Medical Requirements: Good distant vision, ability to hear conversational voice, and no physical condition that would cause them to be a hazard to themselves or others
Preferred Qualifications
  • Aircraft avionics experience involving the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of installed avionics systems on aircraft
  • Aircraft avionics work experience in a repair station, air carrier repair facility, military repair facility, or local, state, or Federal governmental agency within the last 3 years
