Job Title: Resident Aide/Intake Coordinator

Job Summary:

The Resident Aide/Intake Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting client wellbeing by providing a warm welcome and conducting a comprehensive assessment to identify potential barriers to success. This position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of incoming clients to identify their needs and develop a plan to support their success.
  • Provide a comprehensive tour of the Sanctuary facility and introduce clients to the services and resources available to them.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, their families, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the social services team to provide case management and support services to clients.
  • Document all interactions and assessments in client records, ensuring compliance with funder requirements.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties, receive deliveries, and maintain inventory records to ensure the smooth operation of the facility.
  • Deliver meals to clients and assist with client activities and transports as needed.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support to clients as needed.
  • Represent Lutheran Social Service of New York's mission, values, and Code of Conduct at all times.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in human services, preferably in a related field.
  • Working knowledge of issues related to immigration, asylum seekers, homelessness, HIV, substance abuse, mental illness, entitlements, and domestic violence.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and CARES system a plus.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required.

Working Conditions:

This is a 24-hour facility, and the Resident Aide/Intake Coordinator will be required to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously.
