Our service technicians are essential to our operations, working in a safety-oriented environment and handling mechanical components with confidence. In this role, you will engage with 480 3-phase motors, troubleshoot crane issues, and collaborate with clients and facility managers to ensure their needs are met effectively.



Key Responsibilities:
Conduct inspections, maintenance, and repairs on electric overhead traveling cranes and hoists at diverse customer sites. Be available for on-call service as part of the service office rotation.Perform on-site electrical, mechanical, structural, and electronic diagnostics to identify equipment malfunctions and implement necessary repairs using visual assessments, testing protocols, and appropriate tools. Complete a general post-repair audit to ensure all safety features are operational or document any deficiencies.
Record findings and provide corrective recommendations to clients, including written notifications of any observed safety issues when necessary. Assess customer intentions regarding repairs and communicate with the local service office about required actions.Engage with customers regarding repair and safety matters, offering recommendations to enhance their material handling operations before departing the job site. Identify items needing quotations.Complete and submit proper electronic documentation using the company's digital tools for each service, obtaining customer signatures and approvals.Generate sales leads during service visits and report them to the service office, adhering to established protocols.Understand and comply with all relevant OSHA, ANSI, CMAA, HMI, and other industry regulations. Regularly refresh and update knowledge.
Accurately complete service reports and other necessary documentation, submitting them promptly in accordance with established guidelines.Maintain effective communication with the service office and Planner, following established practices.Ensure all company-issued equipment, vehicles, and assets are maintained in safe and proper working order. Operate tools, equipment, and vehicles responsibly, notifying supervisors of any deficiencies.Keep an inventory of forms, literature, and miscellaneous materials in the service vehicle, documenting usage or sales to customers.Adhere to all established safety protocols, including those set by customers.
Maintain company vehicles and uniforms.Participate in monthly safety meetings.Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Education: Associate degree in Industrial Electrical and/or Mechanical Technology or a related field, or equivalent vocational/technical training and experience.

Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of experience in electrical troubleshooting and mechanical repair. Some electronic experience is beneficial but not required. Previous experience with cranes is an advantage.

Other Requirements: Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license with a good driving record. Willingness to work at heights is essential. Flexibility to work varied overtime as required by customers, be available for on-call duties as part of the service office rotation, and travel out of town occasionally.

Salary: $18 - $55 per hour - Compensation is based on skills, geographic location, internal equity, market analysis, years of relevant experience, degrees and/or certifications, and technical assessment scores.

Company Vehicle: Service Technicians are provided with a work truck and a gas card for business use. Candidates must pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to frequently lift up to 25 lbs, lift up to 50 lbs daily, and occasionally lift up to 75 lbs. Lifting 100 lbs is rare. This position requires frequent climbing, balancing, stooping, and overhead reaching. Work will be primarily indoors (approximately 90%) with some outdoor exposure (approximately 10%). Frequent exposure to heat, cold, noise, and heights is expected.
