Position Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Vice President of Product Management for Heroku, responsible for guiding product strategy and execution to maintain Heroku's status as a leading Platform as a Service (PaaS) provider. The ideal candidate will possess a robust approach to product innovation, an in-depth understanding of market trends, and a strong commitment to driving growth through effective product management.

Your Role:

As a key leader, you will:

  • Champion the overall customer experience, encompassing APIs, billing frameworks, and support services.
  • Bring extensive experience with open-source technologies and marketing dynamics, particularly related to Kubernetes and Cloud Native environments.
  • Demonstrate a successful track record in managing products for comprehensive platforms or services, balancing operational stability, efficiency, security, and feature enhancements.
  • Exhibit discipline and focus to prioritize effectively, even if it means concentrating on fewer initiatives with greater impact.
  • Adopt an iterative approach, collaborating closely with engineering teams to deliver products swiftly and adapt as necessary.
  • Have experience in developing platform products tailored for larger enterprises.
  • Articulate a strategic vision for Heroku and effectively communicate this vision to the team, stakeholders, and customers.
  • Engage in executive communication and collaborate with sales teams on customer interactions.
  • Possess a strong background in leading product management within the cloud computing or platform solutions sectors.
  • Have a proven history of crafting and executing successful product strategies.
  • Utilize data-driven insights across various aspects of product management, including market analysis, user experience, and agile methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and execute a product strategy that aligns with Heroku's goals and Salesforce's core values, with a focus on operational stability, security, and innovation.
  • Oversee the complete product lifecycle, from ideation to launch, ensuring our offerings meet market needs and exceed customer expectations.
  • Leverage market research and trend analysis to guide product development and uncover new opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, and sales, to deliver high-quality products on schedule and within budget.
  • Establish and nurture strategic partnerships that enhance Heroku's product capabilities and broaden our market reach.
  • Engage directly with customers to gather insights, ensuring their needs are central to our product development process.
  • Lead and mentor the product team, fostering a culture of excellence, growth, and creativity.
  • Monitor product performance metrics, making informed decisions to optimize our product portfolio.
