Job Overview


As a vital member of the BCP Maintenance team, the Electrical Engineer II oversees the design and installation of new or replacement electrical, mechanical, and automation systems. This role involves contributing to the establishment of standards for reliability and guidelines for engineering and maintenance activities concerning the equipment in question, ensuring that engineering drawings and technical documentation remain current.


For large and complex projects, the Engineer II collaborates with other team members to provide specialized technical expertise tailored to the plant's needs.


Additionally, the Engineer II is responsible for the routine maintenance of equipment and systems under their purview.

The Engineer II may also assist with other maintenance tasks during equipment failures, production halts, scheduled maintenance, or as required.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and implement enhancements to process equipment using a reliability-centered maintenance approach.
  • Lead the design and execution of electrical projects and initiatives of moderate complexity within the facility.
  • Collaborate with planners and schedulers to create detailed maintenance work plans.
  • Establish repair priorities through effective communication with operating departments, maintenance teams, and planners, while keeping them updated on equipment repair statuses.
  • Ensure that engineering drawings, maintenance protocols, and technical information are consistently updated.
  • Provide guidance to maintenance personnel and contract workers.
  • Optimize inventory levels of spare parts, develop efficient supply agreements, and minimize holding costs.
  • Design and implement training programs for maintenance staff that pertain to operations, maintenance, and safety.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on equipment failures and implement measures to prevent recurrence. Support other maintenance activities across BCP as necessary.

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Two years of experience in an electrical engineering role or two years of experience in industrial maintenance engineering.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Five years of experience in industrial maintenance engineering.
  • Experience in heavy manufacturing, particularly in implementing automation projects with successful outcomes in cost and performance.
  • Project management experience.
