Job Description

BlueScope Coated Products LLC is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our BCP Maintenance team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for directing the design and installation of new or replacement electrical, mechanical, and automation equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Installation: Direct the design and installation of new or replacement electrical, mechanical, and automation equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies.
  • Reliability and Maintenance: Assist in the development of standards for reliability and guidelines for engineering and maintenance activities on equipment, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime.
  • Technical Expertise: Collaborate with other staff to provide plant-specific technical expertise to projects, ensuring successful implementation and delivery.
  • Daily Maintenance: Perform daily maintenance activities on equipment and systems within your responsibility, ensuring prompt resolution of issues and minimizing disruptions.
  • Process Improvements: Identify and implement process equipment improvements utilizing reliability-based maintenance philosophy, driving efficiency and cost savings.
  • Leadership and Training: Provide direction to maintenance associates and contract labor, ensuring effective execution of tasks and projects. Develop and organize training programs for maintenance associates, enhancing their skills and knowledge.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Conduct root cause analysis on equipment failures, implementing corrective actions to prevent reoccurrences and ensuring a safe working environment.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience: 2 years of experience in an electrical engineering role or 2 years of industrial maintenance engineer experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Industrial Maintenance Experience: 5 years of industrial maintenance engineer experience
  • Automation Projects: Heavy manufacturing experience in the implementation of automation projects with successful cost and performance outcomes
  • Project Management: Project management experience
