Job Summary:
A Line Cook is a vital member of our culinary team at Pita Jungle, responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes to meet the high standards of our guests. If you have a passion for food and a commitment to excellence, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items using Pita Jungle recipes and kitchen equipment.
- Follow food safety and health code regulations to ensure a safe and healthy environment for our guests.
- Assume 100% responsibility for the quality of products served, adhering to our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, and quality standards.
- Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to ensure a smooth service period.
- Portion food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work station area, including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, sauté burners, convection oven, flat top range, and refrigeration equipment.
- Prepare items for broiling, grilling, frying, sautéing, or other cooking methods by portioning, seasoning, and/or marinating.
- Follow proper plate presentation and garnish setup for all dishes.
- Handle, store, and rotate all products properly.
- Complete required tasks within assigned time frames.
- Track and report any food waste.
- Assist in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed.
- Open and/or close the kitchen properly and follow the closing checklist for kitchen stations. Assist others in closing the kitchen.
- Cook only items generated from the restaurant point-of-sale system.
- If a meal is returned for any reason, correct the problem and report the return to the manager.
- Always wear gloves and hair restraints when handling food.
- Maintain hygiene.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the manager-on-duty.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus. Stamina to work up to 40 hours each week, more if needed. Be able to work open, mid, and close shifts as required.
