About the Role

Volkswagen Group of America is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead the development and implementation of the North American Charging Standard (NACS) strategy. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the electric future for the North American region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategy Development: Align and synchronize a clear NACS strategy with various stakeholders within VWGoA and charging suppliers, including production plants and brands.
  • Implementation Coordination: Coordinate the VWGoA NACS strategy and implementation with vehicle projects across various brands, including NACS charging with adapter for CCS ports and built-in NACS ports in vehicles.
  • Software Integration: Coordinate the software integration into the relevant ID. Software rollout plan.
  • Project Management: Define, plan, steer, and track all cross-functional objectives and measures to implement the NAR NACS strategy, including product content, costs, financial results, timing, quality, launch, risk management, and lifecycle.
  • Conflict Resolution: Balance conflicts of interest relative to the project's key performance indicators, including returns, timing, and quality.
  • Milestone Preparation: Prepare all necessary milestones and/or decision papers to ensure the approval and implementation of the abovementioned strategy.
  • Market Requirements: Identify and implement NAR-specific market requirements.
Role Responsibilities
  • Strategy Execution: Create, steer, manage, and implement the NAR NACS strategy, ensuring project targets (costs, financial results, timing, quality, etc.) are met, and synchronizing all activities with product partners in the VW Group.
  • Team Management: Establish and execute a cross-functional team, creating an efficient cross-functional work environment among all involved departments.
  • Software Coordination: Coordinate the software integration into the relevant ID. Software rollout plan.
  • Presentation and Reporting: Presenting and reporting at decision-making committees within VWGoA and VW Group.
  • Representation: Represent GY NAR in the respective NACS product committees.
  • Long-term Goals: Define long-term goals for enhancement over the lifecycle.
Qualifications
  • Years of Experience: 10-15 years of automotive industry experience, 10+ years of experience in Product and/or Project management, including business case and milestone responsibility, and 5+ years of experience in Electric Vehicle (EV) project management.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Engineering, and Master's degree in Business Administration or Engineering (desired).
  • Skills: Ability to successfully steer and influence cross-functional teams/settings and drive decisions, analytical and conceptual thinking, strong problem-solving orientation and motivation to work around obstacles, ability to thrive with a varying level of ambiguity and uncertainty, strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, with a positive, solution-oriented attitude, demonstrated capabilities in presentation skills at board level, strong influencing and negotiation skills, entrepreneurial focus within corporate structures, ability to drive positive business results, project and milestone management throughout the planning process, innovative and future-oriented thinking, high interest in future vehicle and mobility technologies.
  • Specialized Skills: Knowledge and work experience in international product management environments and teams, capability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams to work on common goals despite contradicting individual goals, in-depth business management and technical product knowledge, experience with EV battery systems and legal and competitive developments in the NAR market, outstanding communication skills.

  • Travel Requirements: Travels to business partners within the NAR and worldwide locations may be necessary.
