Position Overview

Role Summary: We are in search of a dynamic and visionary Executive Director to spearhead our foundation. This pivotal role is essential for advancing our mission by formulating and executing strategic initiatives, ensuring compliance and governance, and fostering employee engagement. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in non-profit leadership, particularly within children's organizations, with demonstrated success in fundraising and team management. This position will report directly to the Chief Administrative Officer and will oversee three direct reports, including the Senior Director of Operations & Programs, Strategic Director of Planning, and an Administrative Assistant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Revenue Generation Strategy: Design and implement a comprehensive framework for sustainable fundraising, engaging employees, vendors, and community stakeholders. Establish diverse revenue streams, including program sponsorships.
  • Fundraising Leadership: Direct fundraising initiatives across all levels of the organization, from frontline staff to senior executives. Cultivate lasting donor relationships to build a dependable funding base for our programs.
  • Team Engagement and Development: Promote employee engagement through innovative initiatives. Evaluate and enhance the roles of direct reports, utilizing technology to boost team productivity.
  • Compliance and Governance: Manage governance and compliance, particularly in relation to non-profit tax filings. Ensure adherence to all legal and regulatory requirements, with a focus on fundraising activities.
  • Non-Profit Expertise: Utilize experience in managing a genuine non-profit organization, emphasizing children's initiatives. Ensure that all foundation activities align with our mission of supporting children in need.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
  • Over 10 years of experience in non-profit leadership, focusing on fundraising, governance, and employee engagement.
  • Proven success in securing significant donations and fostering long-term donor relationships.
  • Experience in leading a grassroots non-profit foundation, particularly in children's services.
  • Strong leadership and management capabilities, with the ability to inspire and guide a team towards fulfilling the foundation's mission.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of governance and compliance standards for non-profit organizations, including familiarity with tax filing requirements.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Self-driven and proactive, capable of providing vision and strategic direction independently.

Compensation:

  • Salary: $185,000 - $195,000
  • Annual Bonus: Percentage based on performance
