We are currently in search of a Manufacturing Production Planner to enhance our team and support our organizational objectives. The Manufacturing Production Planner will take charge of coordinating all production scheduling activities across our operations. This position entails daily management of production workflows, inventory oversight, and warehousing logistics. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Supply Chain, this role requires outstanding communication skills, acting as the primary liaison among Sales, Production, and Shipping departments.

The ideal candidate will champion best practices in production scheduling and standardization. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the formulation of Master Schedule requirements based on demand forecasts, plant capacity, and historical data.
  • Collaborating with production and sales teams to provide updates and guidance based on operational progress and new developments.
  • Addressing volume and manufacturing adjustments as necessary to fulfill customer demands.
  • Updating and disseminating weekly production schedules in accordance with received sales orders.
  • Communicating with the sales team regarding special or unique orders.
  • Monitoring inventories of raw materials, work in progress, and finished goods to minimize costs and achieve inventory objectives.
  • Overseeing the development and maintenance of tools that enhance production scheduling capabilities.
  • Ensuring accurate data collection over time for analytical purposes.
  • Maintaining precise inventory records and implementing measures for improvement.
  • Driving continuous improvement through training initiatives and strategic planning.
  • Maintaining accurate data on KPIs for analysis and ongoing enhancement.
  • Performing other job-related duties as required or assigned.

Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, operations research, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in production planning, logistics, and materials handling.
  • 3+ years in a manufacturing and/or distribution setting.
  • Approximately 10% travel may be required.
  • Availability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

  • Process-oriented with a mindset focused on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to develop processes, train end users, and see projects through to completion.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Ability to work in a cold environment when necessary.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Production floor temperatures are maintained at approximately 40°F; other areas have moderate temperature levels.
  • Ear protection is required on the production floor due to noise levels.
