We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team at Structural Systems Inc. in Hawaii.
Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year
About the RoleThis is a dynamic opportunity for a motivated and experienced Mechanic to work on a diverse range of vehicles and machinery. As a Heavy Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for performing automotive diagnostics, vehicle maintenance, and repairs. Your core skills in automotive diagnostics, mechanical knowledge, and hand tools will enable you to excel in maintaining and repairing various vehicle components such as transmissions, air brakes, and suspension systems.
You will have the opportunity to develop your premium skills in heavy equipment operation, which will further enhance your ability to work on a diverse range of vehicles and machinery. Your focus on customer service and mechanical expertise will ensure top-notch service and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair all makes and models, including liquid propane, gas, and diesel engines, electric motors, transmissions, drive axles, differentials, hydraulic systems, brake systems, steering systems, electrical systems, lifting systems.
- Follow company safety guidelines, blocking up equipment to disassemble as needed and removing components for repair then reinstalling.
- Perform assigned planned maintenance services outlined on company and construction vehicles in accordance with manufacturer's specifications.
- Inspect equipment to identify potential problems and safety concerns, documenting findings.
- Record maintenance and repair work completed, processing paperwork after each job and submitting it in a timely manner.
- Manage your time and work schedule effectively.
- Cultivate and maintain excellent customer service skills, presenting a professional image.
- Maintain company vehicle cleanliness, ensuring the vehicle is in safe operating condition and completing required vehicle checklists.
- Secure and organize company tools and inventory on company trucks.
- Promote a culture of safety and participate in all safety and company meetings.
- 3-5 years' experience as a Mechanic, preferably with auto mechanic experience applicable to general mechanics.
- Good Mechanical and electrical aptitudes, knowledge of electrical and electronic systems, internal combustion engines, and hydraulic systems.
- Excellent customer service care skills, with good verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to safely operate lift trucks.
- Flexible, adaptable, and able to work in an environment requiring frequent shifts in direction.
- Enjoy working independently.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Mechanical or trade school certificate beneficial.
- Good physical condition, able to stand, twist, walk, pull, lift, and bend frequently.
- Able to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Able to drive daily.
