Job Summary

A Marine Equipment Manager is needed to oversee the maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment on marine vessels, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and budget compliance.

Main Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with project managers to achieve project goals.
  • Supervise mechanical repairs, equipment installation, and machining operations.
  • Inspect and test machinery for malfunctions and direct necessary repairs.
  • Manage union workers and enforce safety regulations.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare reports, estimates job resources, and manage team performance.
  • Ensure workforce readiness and provide training.
  • Develop and lead the mechanic/machinist team, monitoring productivity and quality standards.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years in shipyard heavy industry; knowledge of US Navy Ship repair is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, blueprints, and sketches.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain TWIC and DBIDS credentials, valid driver's license, and pass drug screening and background check.
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures; maneuver through confined spaces.
  • Ability to climb ladders, stairways, and navigate tight areas on vessels.
  • Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform manual inspections using tools.
Estimated Salary Range

$90,000 - $120,000 per year, based on location and experience.
