As the Manager of IT Applications, you will oversee the daily operations of our Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) system, ensuring its dependability, precision, and effectiveness. You will collaborate with various teams to implement optimal practices, enhance system performance, and lead continuous improvement efforts. Your responsibilities will include supervising field operations, managing vendor partnerships, and working with internal teams to achieve organizational goals.

Your key responsibilities may encompass, but are not limited to:

  • System Integration: Spearhead the integration of IT solutions with the AMI framework, including meter data management (MDM) systems, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and head-end systems.
  • Operational Oversight: Manage the daily IT operations of the AMI system, including performance monitoring, troubleshooting technical challenges, and ensuring data integrity and security.
  • Application Development: Collaborate with software engineers to design, develop, and deploy custom applications, scripts, and interfaces that support AMI operations, data analysis, and reporting needs.
  • Cybersecurity Management: Establish and uphold cybersecurity protocols to safeguard the AMI system against cyber threats, including intrusion detection, encryption, access controls, and security updates.
  • Data Governance: Oversee the collection, storage, and analysis of AMI data, ensuring adherence to data governance policies, privacy laws, and industry standards.
  • Vendor Coordination: Work with IT vendors, contractors, and service providers to acquire IT hardware, software, and services, negotiate contracts, and maintain vendor relationships.
  • Change Management: Implement change management strategies to minimize disruptions and ensure seamless transitions during system upgrades, enhancements, and maintenance activities.
  • Documentation and Training: Create and maintain documentation, user manuals, and training resources for IT personnel and end-users to facilitate system comprehension, usage, and troubleshooting.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in IT application management and/or related operational roles.
  • Previous experience in application development, program delivery, service provider management, and working with distributed teams.
  • Proven track record in leading and developing technology professionals.
  • Familiarity with various technology domains such as meter data management, head-end systems, or other enterprise solutions that support business functions.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities, relationships, schedules, and deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in regulated utility sectors is highly desirable.
  • Technical certifications are advantageous.
  • PMP and/or Agile certifications are preferred.
  • ITIL certification is strongly preferred, with certification required within six months of hire.
