ABOUT THE FOOD & BEVERAGE TEAM

The Food & Beverage team is dedicated to ensuring a fresh, well-stocked, and safe shopping experience for our guests at all times. This team is responsible for managing food products and services, including replenishment, inventory accuracy, food safety, and promotional signage across all Food & Beverage sections of the store.

WHAT YOU WILL GAIN AS A FOOD & BEVERAGE EXPERT:

  • Understanding of guest service principles and experience in fostering a guest-first culture in Food & Beverage.
  • Ability to advise guests on purchasing decisions and storage techniques.
  • Experience in Food & Beverage fundamentals, including sales trends, inventory management, and pricing strategies.
  • Knowledge of food quality, seasonality, safety standards, and merchandising practices.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Delivering an outstanding guest experience by ensuring a fresh and complete shopping environment.
  • Maintaining the execution of Food & Beverage standards consistently.
  • Understanding the impact of operational procedures on inventory and profitability.
  • Executing essential Food & Beverage processes, including replenishment, stocking, and data accuracy.
  • Managing fast-moving inventory based on seasonal demands and promotional activities.
  • Adhering to all food safety protocols and best practices.
  • Utilizing sampling and suggestive selling techniques to enhance product visibility and sales.
  • Collaborating with distributors to maintain product organization and backroom efficiency.
  • Identifying and processing damaged or expired items according to best practices.
  • Creating a welcoming atmosphere by greeting guests authentically.
  • Engaging with guests to understand their needs and provide tailored assistance.
  • Being knowledgeable about store products and services to enhance guest experiences.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant beverage laws and safety regulations.
  • Handling environmentally sensitive items responsibly.
  • Demonstrating a commitment to ethical conduct, safety, and compliance in all activities.
  • Supporting guest services, including cashier duties and order pickups, while maintaining compliance.
  • Performing other duties as needed based on business requirements.

  • Must be at least 18 years old (Bakery Only).
  • Previous experience in food or grocery is preferred but not mandatory.

  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Quick problem-solving skills to address guest inquiries.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow multi-step processes.

WORKPLACE EXPECTATIONS:

  • Accurate handling of cash register operations.
  • Ability to climb ladders as needed.
  • Efficiently handling and moving merchandise, including lifting up to 40 pounds.
  • Flexibility in work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Capability to work in environments with common allergens.
