POSITION SUMMARY:

Connecticut Against Gun Violence (CAGV) is in search of a passionate and visionary leader to fill the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This individual will be pivotal in steering the organization towards its mission of eradicating gun violence in Connecticut, while also serving as a national model for gun violence prevention.


ABOUT CAGV:
CAGV, a 501c4 non-profit entity, alongside its educational counterpart, CAGV Education Fund, a 501c3 organization, has been at the forefront of advocating for sensible gun legislation since its inception in 1993. With a strong legislative advocacy and grassroots mobilization approach, CAGV has positioned Connecticut among the top states for robust gun laws, contributing to a significant reduction in gun-related fatalities.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strategic Direction: Formulate and execute a comprehensive strategic plan aimed at amplifying the impact of CAGV's initiatives.
  • Advocacy Leadership: Spearhead advocacy efforts while effectively engaging with legislative partners and stakeholders.
  • Financial Stewardship: Oversee financial management and fundraising strategies to ensure sustainable growth and support for the organization.
  • Program Innovation: Collaborate with team members and community leaders to design and implement impactful programs that address gun violence.
  • Community Outreach: Enhance CAGV's visibility in communities affected by gun violence and foster a culture of engagement and support.


QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in leadership roles within non-profit or advocacy organizations, with a strong understanding of gun violence prevention issues and legislative processes. Excellent communication skills, experience in fundraising, and the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders are essential.
