Under the general supervision of the Practice Manager, the Medical Assistant II (MA II) is responsible for basic clinical duties required to ready a patient for the Provider visit in the ambulatory clinic setting.

The MA II works collaboratively with the practice team to assure efficient and effective operations in the practice while maintaining confidentiality of all patients' records, medical treatment and diagnosis and abiding by the policies and procedures of the practice.

Key responsibilities include preparing patients for exams, taking vital signs, and assisting with medical procedures.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

UVM Health Network - Central Vermont Medical Center is committed to providing high-quality patient care and is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant II to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for exams and medical procedures
  • Take vital signs and record patient information
  • Assist with medical procedures and exams
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
  • Work collaboratively with the practice team to ensure efficient and effective operations

Requirements:

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Successful completion of Medical Assistance or comparable training program
  • 1-2 years Medical Assistant experience required
