Position Summary

The Degree Compliance Analyst plays a crucial role in overseeing and coding academic requirements within the University of New England's degree audit platform, DegreeWorks. This position is essential for ensuring precise monitoring of students' degree progress. Key duties include:
  • Evaluating and coding academic program requirements to maintain accuracy within the degree audit system.
  • Testing and ensuring the integrity of the degree audit system to uphold data reliability.
  • Conducting audits of students' academic progress to determine graduation eligibility.
  • Addressing inquiries related to degree audits from faculty and staff.
  • Providing guidance on degree requirements and assisting with degree exceptions and commencement verification.

Work Environment

This role is primarily situated in a traditional office setting within the University Registrar's Office, characterized by a dynamic and customer-focused atmosphere with frequent interruptions. Occasional remote evening hours may be necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in reviewing and ensuring the accuracy of academic program requirements in the degree audit system.
  • Maintain and test the degree audit system for data integrity.
  • Audit the academic progress of students applying for graduation, identifying potential issues and notifying relevant parties.
  • Respond to faculty and staff inquiries regarding degree audits and make necessary corrections.
  • Advise faculty and professional advisors on degree requirements and academic policies.
  • Support the processing of approved exceptions for course substitutions in the degree audit system.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Registrar on commencement processes to verify degree candidates' eligibility.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a University Registrar's Office.
  • Preferred familiarity with DegreeWorks and student information systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Basic understanding of computer programming principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Capacity to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Experience with report writing software and data management.
  • Knowledge of customer service standards and student records management.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of student records.
