About the Role

The Coordinator of COM Recruitment is a key member of the Office of Recruitment, Student and Alumni Services team, responsible for contributing to the planning, execution, and assessment of recruitment strategies for the College of Medicine (COM). This role works closely with the Director of COM Recruitment and the Student Support Specialist to achieve the team's goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a geographic recruitment territory, coordinating with medical admissions support in the Office of Graduate and Professional Admissions.
  • Plan and coordinate various activities and tasks associated with medical recruitment functions, including the development of overall marketing strategies and specific recruitment plans and schedules.
  • Provide information to prospective applicants through in-person meetings, phone conversations, and email dialogue, and coordinate campus tours and follow-up contact.
  • Coordinate the planning, execution, and assessment of UNE COM Open Houses, and recruit, interview, train, and schedule volunteer tour guides/hosts from on-campus COM classes.
  • Plan, supervise, and assess the UNE COM digital recruitment efforts, including the CareerEco virtual events, virtual visits, and web or other electronic media presence.
  • Develop and train student volunteers to email prospective students and applicants, and work with administrative staff members to oversee the 'contact with a current student' program.
  • Compile data for, and prepare various reports and analyses related to assigned functions, and confer regularly with supervisor, other admissions staff, UNE COM and graduate program administrators, and faculty.
  • Lead planning, administration, and regular reporting of the operating budget of assigned functional area, and hold regular one-on-one meetings with teammates and support staff.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree plus at least one to three years of administrative/coordinative experience or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
  • Experience in a medical school or related setting is preferred, as is experience in admissions/enrollment management.
  • Ability to effectively interact with prospective medical students, pre-med and other college advisors, UNE COM faculty, staff, and alumni, requiring well-developed interviewing, advising, and cultivation skills.
  • Administrative and organizational skills, ability to handle demanding, high-volume, diverse workload.
  • Experience in public relations and conference/event planning and execution desired, as is experience in computer software systems and applications for tracking recruitment of applicants and alumni.
  • Ability to relate well with others and perform duties with a high degree of integrity, confidentiality, and adherence to professional ethical standards.
  • Ability to travel extensively as necessary and regularly work evenings and weekends as needed.
