LearningWorks Afterschool is seeking a qualified Teaching Site Coordinator to lead our elementary STEAM program in Southern Maine. The ideal candidate will have experience in teaching, leadership, and curriculum development, with a passion for inspiring students to excel in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and implement a 4-days/week STEAM program for elementary students
- Develop and manage curriculum, schedules, and activities in collaboration with LWAS Directors and school administrators
- Communicate with parents, volunteers, and school staff regarding student enrollment, schedules, participation, behavior, progress, and program visibility
- Ensure a safe, structured, and organized learning environment for students and staff
- Build positive relationships with students, support their healthy lifestyle choices, and assist with behavior challenges as needed
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, meal counts, center activities, student records, and team meetings
- Assist in developing enrichment activities, schedules, and curriculum
- Supervise a team of teachers, teaching assistants, and volunteers
Requirements
- State of Maine Teaching Certification
- Demonstrated leadership experience in an education setting
- BA or BS degree in Education or related field
- Minimum 3 years teaching experience with elementary-aged youth and 1 year supervisory and/or leadership experience
