Job OverviewPosition Summary:

The Electrical Project Foreman is tasked with managing and directing electrical installations on commercial construction sites from inception to completion. This role involves overseeing electrical teams, ensuring that all tasks are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with relevant codes and regulations. The Foreman collaborates closely with project managers, contractors, and clients to achieve superior electrical work within specified timelines and budgets.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership:
    • Direct and oversee a crew of electricians and apprentices on commercial projects.
    • Delegate responsibilities, track progress, and guarantee that all tasks meet high-quality standards.
    • Provide guidance and training to team members to improve their skills and efficiency.
    • Conduct routine safety briefings and uphold all safety regulations and practices.
  • Project Coordination:
    • Examine project documentation, including plans and specifications, to ensure accurate electrical installations.
    • Collaborate with project managers and other trades to organize and schedule work activities.
    • Monitor project advancement, manage supplies, and ensure adherence to deadlines.
    • Identify and resolve on-site issues to reduce project delays.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Review electrical work to ensure compliance with local, state, and national regulations.
    • Conduct quality assessments on all installations and repairs to confirm they meet industry standards.
    • Address any non-compliance or deficiencies promptly and effectively.
  • Documentation and Communication:
    • Keep precise records of labor, materials, and work completed.
    • Generate daily and weekly reports detailing project status, progress, and challenges faced.
    • Maintain regular communication with project managers and clients to provide updates and address concerns.
  • Client Engagement:
    • Act as the main contact for clients on-site.
    • Respond to client inquiries and requests in a timely and professional manner.
    • Ensure client satisfaction by delivering exceptional work and maintaining an orderly job site.
Qualifications:
  • Experience:
    • At least 5 years of experience in commercial electrical work.
    • Prior experience in a supervisory or foreman capacity is essential.
  • Education:
    • High school diploma or GED is required.
    • Completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship program or equivalent training.
  • Licensing:
    • Possession of a valid Journeyman or Master Electrician license.
    • OSHA certification is advantageous.
  • Skills:
    • In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, blueprints, and construction documentation.
    • Strong leadership and communication abilities.
    • Capability to perform effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
    • Proficiency in using electrical tools, equipment, and testing instruments.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Work Environment:
  • Work primarily occurs on commercial construction sites, which may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, and physical hazards.
  • Must be capable of lifting heavy materials, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
