Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Optometric Office Technician to join our team at West Point Optical LLC. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and possess strong organizational abilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Taking patient medical histories and preparing them for examinations
  • Administering tests prior to the eye exam and assisting doctors during examinations
  • Greeting and directing patients, answering telephones, and updating Electronic Medical Records
  • Obtaining insurance verification and authorization, adjusting scheduling for priority patients, and processing insurance claim forms
  • Patient and insurance billing, optometric medical billing and coding, vision insurance billing and coding, accounts receivable and accounts payable, and bookkeeping
Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent, or comparable experience typically achieved with a minimum of 1-2 years in a retail setting
  • Valid State Driver's License and State Minimum Insurance coverage
  • Ability to provide enthusiastic and concise communication to meet/exceed customer expectations as well as foster positive and results-oriented associate, doctor and host relationships
  • Experience with personal computers preferred

The estimated salary for this position is $40,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
