North County Transit District is seeking a highly skilled Financial Oversight Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Finance Division, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper accounting and reporting of our financial activities in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, sound business practices, and relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee and participate in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
- Manage and monitor financial reporting requirements, internal and external audits, and systems of financial internal controls.
- Plan, organize, lead, and monitor programs and activities related to general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general service billing.
- Supervise and review the work of professional and technical accounting staff.
- Prepare complex and difficult fiscal analysis and perform related work as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field with major coursework in accounting, finance, or business administration.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of professional finance experience, including three (3) years at a supervisory or management level in a finance and/or accounting department.
- Minimum of two (2) years' experience preparing full disclosure financial statements.
- Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
