Job Title: Controller

Join the North County Transit District team as a Controller, responsible for ensuring the proper accounting and reporting of financial activities in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, sound business practices, and relevant local, state, and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and participate in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
  • Manage and analyze financial data, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and laws, including the Uniform System of Accounts and the Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB) standards.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external auditors, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to management and staff.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Minimum of eight years of professional finance experience, including three years at a supervisory or management level.
  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
