We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director to join our Global Epidemiology, Vaccines team at GlaxoSmithKline. As an Associate Director, you will play a key role in driving epidemiology strategy and studies across the spectrum of vaccine development.
Key Responsibilities- Lead Epidemiology Strategy
- Develop and maintain an epidemiology plan aligned to the vaccine development strategy.
- Improve disease understanding relevant to vaccine development, including incidence, prevalence, risk factors, and natural history course.
- Support Real World Evidence Strategies
- Advise scientifically on Real World Evidence strategies.
- Contribute to Vaccine Safety Evaluation
- Provide background event rates and synthesize existing evidence, including through meta-analyses.
- Identify high-risk populations and propose post-marketing activities.
- Develop Strong Partnerships
- Develop strong partnerships with internal stakeholders in a multi-disciplinary framework.
- Communicate study findings to relevant internal and external audiences effectively.
- Lead Epidemiology Research
- Plan resource allocation to accomplish multiple research projects and attain project and study timelines.
- Identify innovative, timely, and cost-effective methods to conduct epidemiologic studies.
- Education and Experience
- A combination of academic training and practical experience in epidemiology is required.
- Doctoral degree (PhD, ScD, or DrPH) in epidemiology or a relevant discipline is preferred.
- Skills and Qualifications
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to communicate scientific evidence to peers and at scientific meetings.
- Good knowledge of colonization aspects and antimicrobial susceptibility/resistance towards bacterial infections.
- Identifying target populations with disease burden and epidemiologic and demographic characteristics to support vaccine development strategy.
