Job Responsibilities:
Southern Illinois University Edwardsville's School of Education, Health, and Human Behavior is actively seeking qualified candidates for a full-time, non-tenure-track instructor role. The ideal candidates will exhibit a robust dedication to undergraduate education, particularly in online teaching environments. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in our expanding undergraduate Online Degree Completion program by developing and delivering course content. Responsibilities will also encompass some face-to-face instruction in the candidate's area of specialization. Teaching obligations include four courses per semester, with potential for summer teaching opportunities. Full-time instructors are also expected to engage in a "fifth-unit" of responsibility, which will be negotiated with the Department Chair.

Minimum Qualifications:
While a doctorate is preferred, candidates with a Master's degree will also be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Capability to instruct undergraduate courses in areas of expertise and departmental requirements, such as Statistics and Research Methods, Capstone Seminar in Psychology, Social Psychology, and Careers in Psychology. Course assignments may vary based on departmental needs.
- Interest and ability to teach online, asynchronous courses.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching and engaging with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Willingness to contribute to departmental and university collegiality through a "fifth-unit" service-related activity.
- Ability to enhance the academic community through interest, research, teaching, and/or service related to diversity and excellence. Candidates from historically underrepresented groups are strongly encouraged to apply.
Terms of Appointment:
This is a full-time, continuing 9-month non-tenure-track instructor position. Summer appointments are contingent upon funding and enrollment availability.
