Position Overview

The Financial Planning Analyst will report directly to the Finance Manager and engage with various departments within the organization, including Research & Development and General & Administrative support.

This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including the preparation of forecasts and annual budgets. The Analyst will also be tasked with providing monthly performance reports to the business and collaborating with the accounting team during the month-end closing process.

Key Responsibilities

1. Participate in the monthly closing activities, ensuring compliance with Purchase Order accrual requirements and accurately recording related accruals.

2. Assist in formulating annual budgets, updating quarterly forecasts, and developing long-term financial strategies.

3. Support the ongoing management of financial planning tools, such as Workday Adaptive Planning.

4. Collaborate with Research and General & Administrative teams to review contract terms and ensure alignment with budgetary plans.

5. Work alongside the Finance Manager to create and standardize financial reports that illustrate variances between actual results and forecasts, providing valuable business insights.

6. Conduct variance analyses to identify the underlying causes of financial performance discrepancies.

7. Partner with Research and G&A support functions to pinpoint financial risks and opportunities within the clinical organization.

8. Continuously enhance and streamline financial processes.

9. Collaborate closely with the Finance team to uphold and improve SOX-compliant controls, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the month-end accruals process.

10. Assist with external audits as required.

11. Provide ad hoc financial analyses, data, and reporting related to Research and G&A to summarize changes in forecasts.
