Position: Project Manager for Engineering Initiatives

Location: Hybrid

Contract Duration: 6+ Months

Overview:

  • In the role of Project Manager for Engineering Initiatives, you will oversee the design and execution processes within the Connector Product Design team.
  • Your responsibilities will include managing the creation and development of various connectors (such as USB, HDMI, Power, Lightning, etc.) tailored for a diverse range of client products, ensuring that daily operations align with overarching program goals while concentrating on mechanical engineering design, development planning, and validation.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate daily operations to achieve project milestones and timelines from development through to ramp-up.
  • Streamline the development process by establishing efficient workflows within the team.
  • Develop and uphold project timelines for development.
  • Effectively manage resources to ensure projects are completed on time.
  • Balance priorities across multiple programs with varying complexities.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and cross-functional teams to achieve ambitious cost, schedule, and quality objectives.
  • Lead communication efforts among different project teams and external partners, implementing schedule and risk mitigation strategies while ensuring timely resolution of issues.
  • Provide clear status updates and identify issues for any audience.
  • Comprehend technical challenges and drive resolutions by uniting key stakeholders for decision-making.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Outstanding communication, organizational, presentation, and leadership abilities.
  • Capability to distill and present relevant information tailored to the appropriate audience.
  • Self-driven and proactive with proven critical thinking skills.
  • Familiarity with rapid development cycles and adaptability in uncertain situations.
  • Ability to identify challenges and formulate improved strategies.
  • Comprehensive understanding of product development processes and strong knowledge of manufacturing practices.
  • Experience collaborating with product design, operations, cross-functional teams, and managing international suppliers.
  • A minimum of 2-4+ years of combined experience in project management and mechanical engineering, delivering high-quality products made from various materials.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required.
