Position Overview

The IT Support Technician I plays a crucial role in delivering technical assistance and support to the staff within the hotel and casino environment. This position is dedicated to troubleshooting and resolving issues related to computers and peripheral devices, ensuring that all staff members can operate efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to the established policies and procedures of the organization.
  • Receive, configure, install, and provide ongoing support for computer hardware and peripherals in a networked setting.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues for users in their workspaces.
  • Collaborate with the Network Administrator and other IT personnel to implement network, operating system, and software upgrades as necessary.
  • Utilize standard hand tools and diagnostic software to perform routine maintenance and upgrades on computers and network hardware.
  • Carry out additional departmental tasks as assigned by management.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and hazard-free work environment.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
  • An Associate's Degree in a computer-related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in computer hardware support and maintenance is required.

Work Environment:

  • Work is typically performed in a professional office setting, with occasional exposure to the casino floor where environmental factors such as secondhand smoke and noise may be present.
  • Employees may frequently stand, walk, and use their hands for various tasks, and must be able to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
