Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Internal Audit Specialist to join our team at Esri. As a key member of our internal audit function, you will play a critical role in assessing the effectiveness of our internal controls, accuracy of financial records, and efficiency of operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the annual audit plan to ensure comprehensive coverage of our internal controls and financial processes.
  • Plan and perform internal audits for areas of potential concern with respect to risk, using a project-by-project approach.
  • Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of our internal control environment, identifying areas for improvement and recommending corrective actions.
  • Review and analyze work papers, reports, and other audit deliverables to ensure quality, accuracy, and achievement of audit objectives.
  • Prepare process flow documentation and identify risk points for processes under review, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Plan, coordinate, and perform internal audits, including the development of the audit program and creation of internal audit issues and reports.
  • Perform financial and operational audits of organizational and functional activities to evaluate the effectiveness of controls and determine compliance with plans, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain comprehensive working papers to support and substantiate audit observations, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Assist in the development of internal audit department procedures, practices, and training, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Analyze data and provide recommended process improvements, driving business value and efficiency.
  • Support issue remediation with control owners to ensure risks are appropriately addressed, promoting a culture of accountability.
  • Perform financial reviews of fraud investigations and company acquisition or disposition activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • 8 years of internal audit experience with a public accounting firm and/or corporate industry experience, with an emphasis on financial and accounting applications, financial and operational controls.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills, with proficiency using common analytical tools (ACL/Galvanize, Arbutus, IDEA).
  • Ability to create and analyze process flowcharts to identify internal control weaknesses and areas for process improvement.
  • Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills, with the ability to work with all levels of management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, prioritize, and deliver to deadlines and multiple work assignments simultaneously, consistently producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment, promoting collaboration and teamwork.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the US.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or in a related field with an Accounting Certificate or qualification which meets the California CPA eligibility requirements.
  • CPA, CIA, CISA, or other related certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • SAP or other major ERP system experience.
  • Information technology audit experience.
  • Prior internal audit, risk advisory, or audit experience.
  • Masters in Accounting, or in a related field with an Accounting Certificate or qualification which meets the California CPA eligibility requirements.

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range is $84,240-$135,408 USD.
