Job Summary

This role is responsible for driving sales by ensuring effective merchandise presentation, assessing economic trends, and overseeing the stocking and rotation of merchandise. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in asset protection, loss prevention, and operations management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive sales by ensuring effective merchandise presentation, including accurate and competitive pricing, proper signing, inventory levels, and cleanliness of the area.
  • Assess economic trends and community needs to inform business decisions.
  • Oversee the stocking and rotation of merchandise to ensure optimal inventory levels.
  • Set up, clean, and organize product displays to create an attractive shopping environment.
  • Secure fragile and high-shrink merchandise to prevent loss.
  • Lead and develop teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates.
  • Tour stores and provide feedback to associates to ensure they are meeting expectations.
  • Communicate and collaborate with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction.
  • Introduce and lead company change efforts to drive business results.
  • Provide clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions.
  • Communicate business objectives to teams effectively to ensure everyone is aligned and working towards the same goals.
  • Model and demonstrate exceptional customer service standards to store associates by following and demonstrating the One Best Way (OBW) service model.
  • Manage and support customer service initiatives, such as store of the community and community outreach programs.
  • Ensure customer needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved.
  • Develop and implement action plans to correct deficiencies and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Provide process improvement leadership to ensure a high-quality customer experience.
  • Provide supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, and mentoring of associates.
  • Assign duties and set clear expectations to ensure associates are meeting their responsibilities.
  • Provide associate recognition and communicate expectations consistently and effectively.
  • Ensure diversity and inclusion awareness and promote a culture of respect and inclusivity.
  • Recruit and develop qualified associates to meet staffing needs and achieve company growth potential.
  • Control the unexplained loss of merchandise and improve profitability by identifying and communicating performance goals and objectives.
  • Build accountability for policies and procedures and measure adherence to loss prevention policies and procedures.
  • Review variances to inventory reports and conduct operational and pre-inventory reviews.
  • Gather data, audit results, and monitor deficiency trends to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Communicate and work with managers and associates to determine corrections needed to inventory controls.
  • Influence the implementation and execution of control corrections.
  • Train managers and associates on operational controls and processes in multiple stores.
  • Detect, deter, investigate, and resolve violations of company policies and criminal activities by investigating alleged fraud and other alleged illegal activities.
  • Conduct investigations relating to company operations and policies.
  • Gather evidence, take statements, write case reports, and provide court room testimony as needed.
  • Partner in collaborative efforts with other investigative entities.
  • Monitor safety and risk controls within a facility by ensuring an effective safety program is in place.
  • Supervise safety team members and identify accident trends to develop and implement solutions to prevent accidents.
  • Observe workplace practices and provide training to associates on accident prevention techniques.
  • Communicate plans to minimize accidents and oversee safety reviews to implement plans to improve workplace safety.
  • Manage facility-level training and execution of asset protection, safety, and claims and receiving procedures by reviewing the application of policies, procedures, compliance guidelines, and operational controls.
  • Identify gaps in expectations versus training and determine training needs.
  • Develop and deliver training as needed to ensure associates are equipped to perform their roles effectively.
  • Manage claims and receiving operations by ensuring proper policies and procedures are followed.
  • Ensure the timely processing of claims and merchandise deliveries.
  • Provide direction for claims or receiving issues and maintain necessary documentation and reporting.
  • Coordinate, complete, and oversee job-related activities and assignments by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Support plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs.
  • Identify and communicate goals and objectives and build accountability for and measure progress in achieving results.
  • Identify and address improvement opportunities and demonstrate adaptability and promote continuous learning.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and support company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans.
  • Utilize and support the Open-Door Policy and provide direction and guidance on applying these in executing business processes and practices.
Requirements
  • Completion of 2 years of college.
  • Option 2: 1 year's experience as a supervisor in a multi-department environment.
  • Option 3: 1 year's experience in one of the following areas: accounting, claims, inventory control, systems/UPC, personnel, or loss prevention/asset protection in a multi-department environment.
  • Option 4: 2 years' experience in asset protection or related area.
  • Successful completion of any applicable state requirements to work in asset protection.
  • Acquisition of a current, state-issued Certificate of Eligibility.
  • Successful completion of criminal background check and/or firearms authorized training.
  • Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments.
