Position Overview

As a Power Tree Engineer (Contract) at Eridan, you will take charge of the design, procurement, and adaptation of DC-DC converters. This position requires close collaboration with diverse teams to create efficient and dependable power conversion solutions that align with our technical and performance objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engineer and construct a high-efficiency power tree for a 5G radio unit, including component selection, schematic creation, and prototype development.
  • Identify and assess suppliers for DC-DC converter components, LDOs, and power modules, ensuring compliance with quality and performance criteria.
  • Modify existing DC-DC converter designs to fulfill specific application needs, including adjustments to circuit layouts and component specifications.
  • Perform comprehensive circuit simulations and analyses to confirm design performance and reliability.
  • Work in tandem with hardware and software engineers to integrate power generation circuits into larger systems and resolve any issues that arise.
  • Create and maintain thorough documentation for design processes, specifications, and testing protocols.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in power conversion technology to apply best practices and innovative solutions.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and developing power systems for RF circuits.
  • Some familiarity with negative supply/bias generation.
  • Strong skills in circuit design, simulation, and analysis tools.
  • Practical experience in sourcing components and collaborating with suppliers.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations pertaining to power conversion.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
  • Experience with PCB schematic capture and layout using Altium.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with high-frequency DC-DC converters and advanced power management techniques.
  • Familiarity with power management integrated circuits (PMICs).
  • Understanding of thermal management and EMI/EMC considerations in power design.
  • Experience with FPGA or microcontroller-based control systems for power converters.
  • Some exposure to GaN devices.

Compensation:

This is a contract position with a duration of 2-4 months. The hourly compensation for this role ranges from $150 to $200.
